£10k!

What do they care. It got them out of the hole. Worth every penny.
Sanctions need to be tougher than that.

I think there used to be, not sure if this is the case, where there was a clause, where if the breach was within a certain % of the cap limit, it would be deemed as a minor breach, and therefore, a fine is sufficient.

There was a case a few seasons back where several clubs exceeded the cap, but it was deemed a minor breach, and fines were handed out.

If that is the case, maybe the RFL need to be a bit more transparent, to explain to everyone, to avoid tongues wagging and fingers pointing

Wigan disputed it so it went to tribunal & were deducted 2 pts which were given back on appeal. Leeds have admitted it & have come to an agreement with their buddies at RFL so no points deduction. That doesn't make it right though. Be interesting to see 2019's results.

Shows how much the game is bent towards the big clubs. There is no cap now .Think you get away with more the so called bigger you are.In ozz if you step over the cap you get punish big time who ever you are.Would be interesting to see if there was no so called marquee player for these big clubs how many would be going over the cap. Any truth in Wigan been one and a quarter million pound in det if true how does that work

This does make it appear thet we aren't all playing on a level field

Just as Wigan did a few seasons ago, it now appears that another of the "big 4" is happy to trash the rules in order to maintain their SL status.
Surely it should be a fine AND points deduction ??

It stinks the house out that 2 of the top 4 clubs can "get away" with such breeches.

Its 5% of the cap for points deduction now so approx 95k over the cap before points deductions kick in. £10k is nothing really for breaching the integrity of the sport.

That high horse they all got on about Wigan last year looking a bit daft now

When they docked 2 points off Wigan the following season instead of when the offence took place which would have seen them relegated just about sums the yellow bellies at RFL up. The other so called big clubs have been breaking every rule in the book for years in all departments starting from the youth system working upwards. Dread to think what would happen if it was little old Wakefield .
