A lot of players also got a bit of a wake-up call last year in that you have to raise your game every game to avoid the bottom.

So fingers crossed that injuries are more manageable this season.

They are an indication an generally speaking subject to pre season form, season form and injuries are largely an indication of what the coach sees as the preseason starting line up.

I have nothing against numbering and as some on here have said previously it probably is a commercial attraction
BUT, my point really is, as the season goes on, suppose BJB (for example purpose only!) has a shocking few games would it mean that because he has a starting number he would automatically play? - I don't think so.

We know that doesn't happen, plenty of the top 13 players have been dropped because of form as long as I've been watching. It even happened to Tom the other season, when he got dropped after a couple of poor games and then game back and tore the league a new on, 2017 i think it was.

Agree, when I look at the quality players in the squad all the way down the list, I too think it's stronger than last season.

Defo stronger, in quality and depth. We had a few too many players who were past their best last season and a few that were not going anywhere as squad fillers. We also didn't have Tanginoa for half the season or so, which is a big plus.

Of course if you’re form drops for a few games I’d hope they’d be replaced no matter what number they had but like I’ve mentioned before I’m sure it matters to most players what number they have got. What would be in your mind if you’d dropped from say for example 12 to 18.

I'd be most upset if my missus dropped to a 12 never mind a chuffin 18!
