There has been two cases of poisoning that has killed two dogs one at newmillerdam and the other at sandal castle, I only heard of this through my partner from her Facebook I wouldn't expect anyone to be caught as their likely to drop at at times when no one's looking, just thought those who have dogs to be aware of this sick person acts.

Hope it ok with you poptart

More than 1 at newmillerdam from what I've heard. Some sick person has been leaving poisoned sausages about the place, similarly at sandal castle 8)

As a dog lover I think this is vile, I assume even none dog lovers do. Why would you kill an animal who’s only aim in life is, with the odd exception, to be your friend.

Yes some dogs can be a pest but feed the owners the poison if you feel that bad but then that’s not the cowards way is it.

Thanks Snowie as I was going to take mine around the dam tomorrow, very grateful for the heads up.

There really are some sick people about. This problem is becoming more prevalent. I rarely let my dog off the lead nowadays and always pull him away if he seems to be dallying too long.

Think there was a similar issue on the land behind the Swan and Cygnet a couple of years ago. Not sure what the police are doing about it, or can do about it.

That’s a bit harsh BLM, particularly on those like me, who aren’t particularly fond of cats and dogs that mess in one’s garden.

Not particularly fond of it myself but when your a responsible dog owner you tend to pick up after your pets and dispose of it correctly in the bins, I get angry at those who don't pick up and even worse the ones that do then leave them hanging from trees, we have a special bag that is on the lead that we can then keep until we get to a bin it's no hardship carrying it around and we have three dogs. We also use biodegradable bags that are made from corn.
Who ever is doing it has no care for nature in general as it can effect wildlife as well as the dogs that go to a a walk
