Not sure he is PT, I class myself as a neutral on here who leans slightly towards Wakey. Said for years on here that Milky wasn't even SL standard but CC (who I respect as a coach) compounded the issue by making him captain. Its now very hard to drop your captain no matter how bad he plays and he should be leading by example which in my humble opinion he isn't. Just look through the other SL captains and see the difference.

The worrying thing for me is when Mr Chester got H K R to Wembley he played a weak team in the final because there were about 7 players injured and also some of the players that played .Beging of next season a lot of those players were still injured ,after about 5 matches HKR got rid . Seems to be a coach who can go well , but when injurys come does seam short on idears to get them fit

Watched Neil hudgell on rugby Am a while back reliving the Wembley game ,said that he knew as soon as he stepped into dressing room they weren’t going to win just by the players demeanour , just getting to the final was good enough for them .Cant remember all of chat but very good insight into his club.

Yes and no, that’s the point.

Some players attract a fan club and can do no wrong, big Dave for example.

Others can do not, Grix.

Some like Miller just coast.

Brough due purely to his age, I don’t like ism’s but in this case it’s blatant, have decided Brough is a past it rubbish signing.

Yet he has played just as well or as badly depending on point of view as Miller who as I say cops very little flak.

There is an element in society who need scapegoats, don’t get it myself. I’m not against criticism, far from it but a bit of balance would be nice.

Broughy didn’t make us sign him nor is it his fault that he knocking on so why brow beat him and not Miller who should be at his peak.

Neither deserve huge criticism tbh but if people must then surely the logic is that the much younger Miller is the real culprit?

Well the captaincy think is another question altogether. I was one who thought he'd be good but evidence suggests otherwise.
However I don't agree that he isn't super league standard. He has won us many games on his own.

For me when we are good, Miller makes us better but can't make us better when we are poor.
Brough on the other hand can drag us up when we are poor but doesn't have it consistently to make us a better team which he used to be able to do.

If we got the 7 right, Miller would be outstanding more often. If we get the 6 right, Brough won't be any better than he is now because of his age.

Alas we probably have the half backs we can afford.

Yes. I kinda agree with that.
Miller has had plenty of criticism in the past but it seems to be Brough's turn now.

Neil Hudgell who likes a sound bite would say that wouldn’t he, as I say armchair coaching especially in hindsight is a doddle.

It’s also rubbish. HKR were a workmanlike team who’d done well to get there. Against them was the finest team Leeds have ever had who were determined on a last hurrah!

They were also unbelievably experienced, almost totally bereft of any nerves.

They were unbeatable that day, sure other teams may have given them a better game but only by degrees.

HKR were already beaten before the game but despite there chairman’s grandstanding they didn’t know they were beaten they were just nervous. What the hell did the fool expect.

We’d be just the same and there is as little CC could do about it now as there was then.

The last cup upset on the scale Rovers would have needed was when Sheffield beat Wigan, that’s how rare they are! That was also a different era when part time players could occasionally be raised to great heights.

CC did nothing wrong that day, the brilliance of that Leeds side meant the game was over before it began not the players mindset.

Do you seriously believe anyone could have raised Rovers enough that day to win? I don’t but of you know who this person is let us know and I’m not being sarky I’m just interested.

I bet the majority of us Wakey fans, players, coaches and our chairman would have liked to be sat in the Wembley changing rooms whatever the result, I know I would.

Just once before we leave the planet would do for me, I was a bit too young last time around and every season you just hope that by some kind of miracle it may just be our turn. We should have got there when Hull beat us at Doncaster but, despite playing Wire at Leigh a few seasons back, we haven't really been close.

Forgot Miller used to get flack.

Without wanting to sound conceited that just further makes my point. At a moment in Miller's career when he was very young he received criticism he didn't really deserve, now when he as a senior player and probably does, he doesn't. Just shows how fickle some fans are.

I was 18, Wren, remember it well with my mates, some sadly no longer with us. I too would like just one more visit before my candle burns out
