Belly hit the nail on the head with his comment about Cas still performing last week despite their injuries...and Powell went on record before the game that he wouldn't be using injuries as an excuse, instead saying he trusted those playing to put in a shift

Because Cas have a structure we haven't. I think people are right when they say "When Kear was behind the scenes the stucture was there" But it's been allowed to slip

Powell says that but how many times in the past two years has he moaned about injuries.

He may mention injuries but thats not the same as using them as an excuse.

Powell is the new hero for the CC snipers like Wayne and co.

As for Belly he was telling us all last year that Salford had the best coach in SL if not the world. Minus Hastings it’s not quite the case is it! For some posters the grass is always greener elsewhere whilst people who leave Trinity are suddenly elevated to god status.

Funny but I bet if you went back far enough on these forums you’d find the same posters frothing at the mouth to get Kear sacked whilst nobody was rating the lad at Salford who’s name I forget.

Armchair coaching is the easiest gig on the planet.

Yeah exactly, Powell has done absolute wonders for Cas but then Chester has led us to two top 5 finishes in last 3 yearswith the lowest or at most 2nd lowest budget in the league. Our problem is that we have to take risks on players that other clubs don't want, sometimes it works out, sometimes not, but thats not the coaches fault. Neither is it his fault we have had long term injuries to key players last year.

People need to get off his case and let him work

The worrying thing for me is when Mr Chester got H K R to Wembley he played a weak team in the final because there were about 7 players injured and also some of the players that played .Beging of next season a lot of those players were still injured ,after about 5 matches HKR got rid . Seems to be a coach who can go well , but when injurys come does seam short on idears to get them fit

Because in both cases he had to be frugal with his money. He got some quality players in that were an injury risk and it worked until they got injured. The second string were not as good whether they tried hard or not.

I'd also say that our injuries last and into this season are massive. Cas have done well while handling their injuries but the ones they missed against Wigan were workers who can be replaced. They still had all their star men playing bar maybe the new winger.

The point is is Mr Chester pushing players with a small injury back too soon making it in to a worse one
