Expectations

Not sure what my expectations were before the season started, because of players coming back from injury, last season's form etc. Well i'm even more confused now after the first 3 games!! I know it's all been said by many on here, but the main 2 points are, with the ball we just look pedestrian, devoid of any ideas, predictable, easy to defend against, that's when we actually hold on to it for long enough to actually exert any pressure! Last week we defended for our lives, covered for each other, the threequarters even seemed to stifle anything Warrington had to offer, yet against HKR and last night it was the exact opposite. The way our wingers are exposed is a bit embarrassing really, although i'm not sure whether it's starts further in and has a domino effect on the centres, then the wingers, no matter who plays there? The way we played as a team in '17 & '18 is now a distant memory, 6 tries in 3 games isn't good enough, we were such an attacking threat in those seasons, we could kind of gloss over defensive frailties to some extent. I turned up to those games almost 'knowing' we would give a consistent level of performance at least, win, lose or draw, which was a nice change from what was the 'norm' for us. Now and for most of last season I haven't a clue what we are going to dish up!! I suppose now it will be......over to you big bopper and get us rolling, and everything else will click into place, but that's more out of hope than expectation.....

We can't just rely on him tho he'll soon get burned out. He's got to have some help but as yet no-one is stepping up

My expectatons as a Wakefield fan are small, that way im never greatly disappointed..
I do however look forward to every new season with optimism.
