Toronto want a "No Relegation" season... : Tue Mar 31, 2020 10:31 am
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/52104908

Wondered how long it would take them?
If the games/season somehow get completed, then how about the super league becoming a 14 team competition for 2021?

To be fair, if things stay as they are, there doesn't seem to be any alternative than to start again next year, providing, of course, that all of the current clubs and players are good to go.
You certainly couldnt relegate (or promote) any club, based on 5,6 or 7 games having been completed.

The bigger issue here could be whether fans and players etc, will be free to travel to different countries next season, I'm not convinced that life will return to normal that quickly.

Mind you, with a side full of English players (with a few antipodeans thrown in) they could base them selves over here, maybe at Odsal

Having said that, IF the fixtures could be completed, then we should go with the criteria already agreed, ie, bottom club drops down.

Me neither, Wrencat….9 of us have already booked and paid for flights and accommodation to Toronto in September and I am fully expecting it all being cancelled. We should be okay for refunds on the flights if they do get cancelled, but not sure about the accommodation as I went for the cheapest 'non-cancellable' option but it was through Booking.com so am hoping that we would somehow get a refund if we can't physically get there

They are offering a free rebook Fil at the moment and given time - will probably offer refunds even if the booking was non-refundable.

We're not quite in the same boat as you but, we are booked to go to Perpignan, which definitely isn't going to be on and then booked to go to Toronto.
The silver lining is that we hadn't booked accommodation and I believe that the flight companies will at least give the chance to re-book and maybe a refund.

At least both were booked with a credit card, which could come in handy if the airlines go pop.

No chance of Catalans being played 4 of us were going. Anyone flying needs to wait for airlines to cancel flights and it's looking extremely likely they will then they can offer a voucher or alternative flight but also you have a right to a full refund. If you cancel then it's a different kettle of fish
