Quite a lot of blurb, something seems to be missing from the release though. It escapes me just now but I'm sure I will recall it in time.

The stench of corruption still hangs over that place. I’m glad we’re well out of it now.

“ Once the planning application is submitted to Wakefield Council, the Council will also consult locally.“

Yes, because when has the Council ever taken the opinion of the Wakefield public into consideration.

Would that be a labour council?

Sadly, we have to be careful here, no matter how much we may despise the history of this Newmarket saga, it’s quite possible the Belle Vue redevelopment is still tied up to Newmarket development. If I remember correctly, it was suggested that planning and some funding for BV was subject to the planning for Newmarket being granted and developed. There has been a lot of unsavoury dealings over Newmarket, BV, the previous WMDC leadership, and recently, involvement by The National Crime Agency. Sadly, as with the Cas Tigers, the economy, I believe will dictate the future of both stadium developments. Michael C and John M, have done a tremendous amount of work on this, and just a few months ago it looked likely that redevelopment of BV would start this year., but remember “The best laid plans of mice and men go awry.” Let’s try and forget Newmarket, support our CEO, and Chairman, they need all the help they can get to survive the covid crisis, let alone get the redevelopment sorted.
