Dave is still awesome
He’s got a tonne left in his tank, he hardly played any regular top level footy before he came to the Uk
The hole team aren’t playing the best at the moment
We just need a spark from some where, I really do think we need a scrum half who can run the plays and has a good kicking game
Dave will come good again I am sure
I don’t think he is it’s nothing to do with the current situation.
One he doesn’t look after himself but true he could get away with that, some do. Not sure that a lack of games in his younger days gives him a longer run but it’s hard to say.
The two biggies for me are his attitude, which to me at least has always looked suspect though I concede that whilst with us he seems to have done ok. That said few of us knows what goes on behind the scenes.
Secondly that foot injury. Never fully diagnosed and has taken an age to heel, assuming it actually has. Those oddball injuries can be career killers.
Daves biggest strength is his mobility for such a big man, if that’s compromised he becomes just a standard prop. In the same way that if TJ lost his pace. Still be good players but probably no longer special.
Love it if all this is wrong and he wants to stay but somehow I don’t think he does. Likewise if CC has the man management skills to pull him back I’m not sure he would want to.
Not many have commented on this but poor though we were against Warrington we still looked better than we did with him. Coincidence? Maybe.
