I can remember we had many fans who didn't like Kears style of play and wanted him gone, fans also wanted Webster gone same fans wanted Agar gone and now it's Chester's turn . Could it be it's not always the coach who is at fault take a look at the wonderful Tony Smith's team last week their defence was worse than ours. Many of us who have played the game know that ultimately on the pitch it's the players who call the shots and miss the tackles and don't stick to the game plan or adopt a different plan when things go wrong injuries etc. So as the thread says players need to take a look at themselves and not expect the coach to take the blame for everything.

There are players out there hiding and that is not Chesters fault? Who`s fault is it then as there are a number of them and it is Chesters team? Who`s job is it to motivate the players and make sure they are ready for the game?

I get that you have to put responsibility on the individual players for there own performances but when it is half the team questions need to be asked.

Even before the recent slum we looked absolutely clueless in attack, whatever side we put out, even 10m out we have no idea. Defensive structure is lacking, that is quite obvious, every team has weak links - The difference is the coaching staff recognise these weaknesses and compensate for them, you watch next time a forward tries to isolate Theo Fages or Jonny Lomax and see what happens 9 times out of 10.

It’s there fault, I’d have thought that was fecking obvious.

Tell me another job where someone can refuse to do their job and the person above gets sacked? You can’t because for some reason you’re choosing to defy the laws of fair play.

These are not children these are grown men so why are you pandering to them. It’s not Chesters job to make the act like responsible human beings that is up to them. Get a grip this isn’t the school playground.

erm, I manage a team - When my team are not performing, it is me who has to answer those questions from my senior management team and ultimately take responsibility for the teams performance, so Public Sector procurement for one.

I think what you have to look at here Vasty is I cant point out one player that is performing any worse than 7 others,

Let me take you back to Cunningham's Saints side, a team that looked shot, unmotivated and lazy - Amateur at times, just look at the difference of Holbrook coming in mid season with the exact same team - Ultimately who was at fault there? Because here we see the exact same situation.

Agree,I'm in same boat in a sales orientated business. The Sales Director takes the pain if his team (coached and managed by him) doesn't produce the goods. The odd sales person may feel the heat and leave, but if the whole team are not performing it will be the Sales Directors job on the line.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Literally every management job ever!

If a single person in a team isn't performing, then it's up to their manager to resolve that, if they can't, their manager is ultimately responsible for what happens to them.

If a whole team isn't performing, then the manager is held responsible, and it moves up to the next level in the CoC who become responsible for the under performing manager

What would a Cockney know about rugby league?

Re: Take a good look at your self : Mon Sep 21, 2020 2:57 pm
Said elsewhere I feel for Chester, he's a supporter at heart and the current situation will be hurting him. However ultimately in pro-sport the coach will always pay the price if his charges underperform. That's how it is. It does seem he's staying however, assistant coach appointed for 2021 and Chester talking budgets in the media today.

Some of the players want to pull their fingers out as there's some shades of McShane 2015 about some of them at the moment. Once they are out on the field they 100% are responsible for their own effort and work rate. Can forgive errors but not idleness.

Wise old Vasty has got something wrong and covering up your foul language doesn't help prove a point when you're wrong.

TBF Webster 100% needed sacking after his aiming for the middle eight’s comments....:
