League Express prediction for Trinity. Although I'm more optimistic I think that's a reasonable assessment based on the last 18 month. My only issue is the importance they put on Gigot, who in my opinion had a minimal effect at best and IMHO got in the way.

It is what it is Vasty.....
Agree re Gigot - I'm of the opinion we only signed him (don't think we needed him) to stop someone else doing so!

It was a fairly balanced preview though didn’t touch on the biggest investment which is on the coaching and conditioning front. Arguably the most prominent improvement on the face of it from 2019/20 seasons.

If I’m being brutal then it was becoming a job for the boys with Finn, kirmo migrating to the staff side despite having any real experience. It certainly showed how much Chester was lacking quality back room support. Thank fully the club looks to have wised up this year.

It mentioned a number of players leaving but let’s be honest of all the players that left only BJB is any sort of loss.

Kirmond was here two seasons too long. Atkins barely played, Brough showed very little since early 2019 in his first few games, Koppy was average but wasn’t the pack leader we needed when the chips were down despite his experience. Gigot ... I couldn’t be bothered with him when he appeared to step aside and let an opposition player ghost through him.

All in all we are slightly stronger than last season on the playing front from a quality perspective, less so in depth.

It’s going to be difficult to predict though and I honestly could place us between 6-10th. Considering we were 1 win off 9th 2020 after all the issues on and off field id day anything less than 9th would be disappointing.

Seems a fair assessment of where we are and our progress definitely depends on the success of Lino and having some luck on the injury front.
I still think 8th would be a very good season, coming from where we have been over the past couple of seasons and anything better would be superb.
IF we were able to pick up another prop of quality and still have some luck with injuries, we could be looking at a top half of the table finish.
As it is, everything is to play for and if Lino can do the same for us as say ,Sezer has done at Huddersfield, we may cause a few upsets.

Come on Trin !

Think we will surprise a few this season so looking at 6.
Lino to supply the spark and a solid pack. We have the best squad for quite sometime.

Yep agree 100% with that, Trojan, but Willie Poching doesn't even get a mention in that article

It does, it says Andy Last may prove to be the shrewdest signing of the season. Doesn’t mention Willie but to be fair he was signed last year.

Fair play I must have skimmed that part. Let’s hope he will be along with Willie. I have that pre season blind optimism back again. Let’s hope it doesn’t evaporate early on. I have faith we can have a good season with a mid table finish.

As I stated on a previous thread, I believe Wakey will prove pundits wrong and have a good season, I can feel it in my water
