Definitely - the guy created more in 2 games at the back end of last year than Miller has in 2 seasons...and showed he has a good enough short kicking game to force repeat sets

Hampshire's performance v Saints must have nailed the fullback spot for Jowitt but must leave Chester wondering where he could possibly use Hampshire. Miller's absence should allow the team to create some cohesion and go forward and it's a great opportunity for someone to step forward and claim 6 for themselves.
We have been on the bad end of several decisions and it is uncanny that our every VR referral is sent up as no try whilst it's always sent up as Try when we're defending.
The Leeds game turned on an absolutely unique decision to call a forward pass against the "home" team at Headingley. One big difference was that this forward pass wasn't whilst Leeds would have to pass like quarterbacks to be called forward at home. It was ever thus!!

I said it last year and it's been repeated on here by other since but Rocky would be worth a run out at 9, especially as an impact player 25-30 mins into a game so he can exploit tired middles with his pace

Is it possible that, Andy Last could have some useful information on certain Hull players, that might be useful to CC, ahead of Friday game?

The problem with playing rocky at 9 isnt avout the attack but a hooker isnt just about attack they have big defensive duties too

Move Rocky out of the middle when defending ,move him in to the middle when attacking .We got to do some thing 3 trys in last 3 games .Salford ,Huddersfield, H K R ,Liegh ,are all scoring points .If we do not beat those teams at first attempt. ,we will have no chance of serviving. Why, the pressure will get to the players.Win those 4 games and the pressure will be on other clubs. But while the coach as is head in the sand Rocky will not play 9

Completely agree. I think people advocating Hampshire at 9 are just trying to find a spot for a local lad.

What we don’t need are players playing out of natural positions and shifting around in defensive line when in Attk/defence. We have a 9 in Bowes, he may not be the answer but probably more of a chance than Hampshire of being a solution at 9.

Hampshire will be needed at halfback anyway for next 4-6 weeks so it’s a moot point. It’s his job now to make sure Miller can’t step back in.

We all moan when Kalepi is moved to prop yet I can guarantee if Hampshire is tried at 9 and if falls like a lead balloon it will be laid at Chesters feet for playing a player out of position.

We are looking for quick fixes as fans but I can tell you now moving the odd player into an unfamiliar position will not help us turn into St helens in attack. Us fans are fickle and speculative but that’s half the fun.

The reality is it will take a lot of hard work from the players and staff to get their combinations and come up with new plans to break teams down.

A big help in that will be discipline and making sure we don’t have to defend 6/7/8/9 sets repeatedly which has been our undoing in the last 2 games. Not fitness or lack of defensive ability but lack of discipline and smarts is n turning the ball over and stemming the flow of repeat sets.

Sorry, but if you think Hampshire is the answer, you are asking the wrong question.
Why should a coach look for ways to fit someone into a team when he has consistently failed to shine in any of the positions he has had the opportunity to play. Miller has been appalling for at least 3 years yet Hampshire hasn't come close to dislodging him so why should we overlook good players to accommodate Hampshire.
