I don’t mind Adam Milner to be honest he’s the type of player we need, a grafter who will get stuck in, the question is at 30 next season will he still have the same enthusiasm and desire to put his body on the line. The key to all signings is are they better than what we’ve got, well I suppose it’s a matter of opinion if he plays hooker is he better than josh wood and Kyle wood or crowther or at 13 better than crowther. The thing that concerns me is his age and the age of the pack, fafita, ashurst, westerman, wood, arona, green, battye, Pitt’s all pushing 31/32 and the longer we leave it to replace them the worse it will get. Batchelor and crowther as young lads should be encouraged to get as fit as possible to play the 80 minutes but where all the signings are coming from god only knows because there isn’t the quality out there.

When you say imbalances Do you mean wingers, where we are down to our last fit two Or fullbacks where we have to play players out of position because we've injured the three we have?
Basically saying we love a 2nd row type loose forward player along with plodding hookers. Where are the props? We sign Kaye no improvement on bishop. Bishop can also slot in as fullback. It's all a bit strange. Chester needs to go and trust the new guy in with recruitment. Act now while Macdermott is available.

I agree with a lot of what you say here. The concerning thing for me is we give Pitts an extended deal this season (he will be 32 this year) and i honestly don’t think he’s been that good for us. That seemed a bit of a strange one.
Recruitment is so very important for 2022 and the short - med term future. We have a number of players over 30 off contract and it would be silly of us to extend the vast majority of them. An overhaul is needed. While players like Wood, Ashurst have given us great service it’s time to look to the future now.
I would say for the most part that it’s the experienced players who aren’t pulling their weight recent years.
The recruitment has to be questioned this past few years. We held onto Kirmo about 2 years too long and ended up signing Brough and Atkins when quite simply a short term stop gap solution. We really need to invest in some future thinking with our signings.

Tbf I thought that. He’s 30, played international couple of years back, had his testimonial.... is he still up for a battle with us. Suppose we’ll find out if he joins us.
Put my Wakefield body warmer on this morning to go to Ossett market .Was stopped 6 + times by Wakefield fans They all said the same about Mr Chester. Bad signings over the last 3 year, we are the only team playing without a hooker who does nothing for the attack, we play the worst rugby by far in S L ,we have used our 9 lives up for staying in S L .And would not trust him to bring players in to make the team stronger .Think that says were we are at present

Regardless of what anybody thinks of Chester I think all parties understand his position is untenable after 2021 season closes. I’m sure he wants to go out on a positive note and I really hope he does.
Recruitment is absolutely paramount for next year with an opportunity to mould the team with a number of the playing staff contracts ending 2021. I would envisage the club already has an idea who they want as next coach of trinity.
McDermott would certainly be high up on that list imo.
It would make sense to secure the next coach now so he can plan the team for 2022 and beyond and it would allow Chester to focus on getting the best finish he can (like Powell at Cas).
Milner's no better than Crowther or Batchelor and is on a par with Annakin, another grafter who got stuck in but wasn't quite good enough or big enough for SL...let him stew at Cas, Waky lad or not

Let him stew at Cas, but he wont be at Cas regardless of if he ends up with us or not as they aren`t offering him a new contract?
Milner is currently better than Crowther by quite a bit IMO and he`s not a second rower at all, so not sure why you would even compare him to Batch, he is also better than Annakin.
