I don’t think he doesn’t care and will try and do his best between now and whenever he leaves. Would you really not try in his position living in Wakefield knowing you could be first Wakefield coach to be relegated from superleague. I do think Michael will probably press the panic button on signing a player rather than replacing Chris.

My concern is if he does decide that he needs a break from coaching or the club choose to go in a different direction at the end of the season then a delay would be damaging. I'm uncomfortable with him having the say in recruitment if he knows isn't going to be coaching them, what if an incoming coach doesn't want that style of player but the budget is already spent? A decision needs to be made one way or another.

Very good point with regards to the recruitment.

Didn't Chezzy also persuade Andy Last to join.........and the rumours are already rife that's he's told the club he's got another gig elsewhere next year (Cas no doubt with Radders.)

All seems a bit of a mish-mash to me. Needs resolving and quickly.

If I had a job that I knew I was leaving in 5 months time anyway and any results wouldn`t really matter to me because I just walk away anyway, would I give my all to the role? (Well yes, I probably would because I am proud upstanding citizen with great morals :D ) but I trust a lot of people wouldn`t apply the same effort knowing that they are going regardless.

But what happens in the next few months will decide CC's career, that doesn't apply to most of us. Whether he goes or not, if he can save us from relegation or better still gets us on a bit of a run he may get another chance somewhere else if not at Trinity, even if it's just as an assistant.

I agree. I doubt whether he’d want to take his young family out there but an assistants job in the NRL would do him the world if good. If i were him i’d be sticking an application in for Craig Fitzgibbon's role at the Roosters seeing as he’s leaving. A couple of years working with Trent Robinson would be the making of him.

I'm sure it would but he won't even get that gig if he doesn't try his best for us. That said I'd be delighted if he proved the doubters wrong and turned it all around and won himself a new deal, wouldn't you?

I have mixed feelings about this news. CCs relationship with MCs kept him in a job but CCs like it or not been advantageous to the club. Its only recently that CC s made a comment about our class c recruitment staying within budgets. For me his hands have been tied and I'm not 100% SURE Anew coach would come to the club without enquiry about budgets. It could be given a decent amount to spend the results would have been much better.
If the club intend to release CC he should in no way be responsible for 2022 recruitment look what's happening at Cas and Wire for the correct way to do things, how the hell can ypu expect a new manager at the start of next season that taken no part in recruitment.
FOR ME IT'S SIMPLE EITHER BACK CHESTER NOW AND GIVE HIM SOME DECENT INCREASE IN MONEY BECAUSE IF the club doesn't they will end up giving it to a new man who may be a little less subservient.

Wakefields roller coaster ride continues.

It's his choice if he leaves or not, but not happy with him recruiting if he's not going to be in charge next season.
