Wakefield pivot : Tue May 18, 2021 1:17 pm
Any body else think this is the worst pivot we have had down at Wakefield for a long time.In the game against Leeds we had a 4th choice lone player at 9 and he looked better than our first choice .Watson as been at Huddersfield 3 month, and as already got is pivot working well The H K R coache as been there from less than half way though last season and now there pivot is playing well The Coach at Wakefield as had 3 year (since Finn and Randel left) to sort the pivot out and failed . Some of you may say short of cash ,but 3 year ago we were in a car stronger position for spending money on players than we are now .Trying to think of a worst pivot we have had

Another negative thread!

The pivots you are referring to at other clubs have had the benefit of playing together and getting an understanding we have lost ours through injury.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.

Re: Wakefield pivot : Tue May 18, 2021 2:15 pm
Nonsense.

You don’t actually state which of the wakefield pivots you have an issue with. I’m guessing Lino.

1. You compare a halfs performance to a hooker...
2. You neglect the fact we have had about 5+ different halfback combinations in opening rounds against mostly top 6 opposition.
3. We have had 4 different full backs.
4. We have had 4/5 different players playing in and filling in at 9.
5. We have had a number of injuries over the first month of SL more than most clubs.
6. The starting spine I don’t think has played together yet and there’s been no continuity in all pivotal positions from 1,6,7,9.
7. We have had to shuffle key pivotal positions around mid game due to player injuries more than once this year.
8. As above other clubs haven’t had half the disruption to their spine that trinity have. Why that is another question.
Granted things need to improve but your way off the mark here.

Sezer was at Shudds before Watson arrived and was already running the show. Abdul hasn't needed Tony Smith to turn him into the class player he has been for many years.

And from what I saw Giants looked pretty ordinary while Sezer was injured.

A Leg end
You must have been drinking or missed most of your school lessons looking at your grammar.
Loan player, has been, their pivot, has said, his pivot
How can you take a post seriously when you haven’t even the Kahoonas to name the player.
Keep taking the tablets mate.

He might have been here for 3 years but his pivots haven't.
Let's see how those coaches handle it when their pivots aren't available.
...... Oh wait. That happened. And they lost.

Re- Lino,The jury's still out at the moment for me.The lad's committed, that's for sure, but for every good thing he does he follows it with something far less so.

Hard to make an informed judgment on a player who hasn’t played alongside a settled team since he arrived .watching him kick from the touch line with ease in our friendly I thought problems were over in that department but not so on his latest outing. But you’ve got to cut the lad some slack though as not only is he having to deal with new club life/team mates he’s also having to steer a team low on confidence around the field, with an ever changing squad ,and that is no mean feat at the best of times .He’ll be feeling the pressure to perform just like the rest of the team ,hence the dropped balls and missed kicks . I’m sure if he’d have dropped in a few years ago to a team high on confidence you’d have seen a different Lino to the one we see at the moment.Get Miller back and that partnership back on track and I’m hoping we see ,not a world beating Lino but a good solid club player . We’ve seen glimpses of his skill set and I’m sure there is plenty more to come from the lad ,hopefully starting this weekend .
