Rubbish his one on one with Jordan turner was pathetic he’s got to go downstairs

He went high on a bigger man and got flattened, I can see what he was trying to do, effectively using gravity to pull Turner down, it didn't work out and perhaps would've been better to go low, his effort did impact Turner enough for the supporting defenders to have a chance if holding the attacker up.

I'll say it again, whilst the defence was soft for all the tries conceded, its our attack that cost us the game. 12 points would never have been enough to beat Cas.

If Max has gone low wouldn’t Turner have just flopped over for a try wouldnt he? The only option was to go high and wrap the ball but Turner always had the advantage charging forwards. And Max couldn’t get enough on him though almost delayed him enough.

The damage was done when Matauitia ran through the middle of our forwards for a clean break.

Matautia was the difference last night.

How come it's pick on M J week .ok he had a bad match, but overall he as had a good season .Lino had a poor match last night so is he no good at scrum half . There was no reason for Kershaw to come of is wing for Cas second try just let's pick on some one .Face the facts, Cas are a good side ,well coach They did not get a overlap all night, some thing Wires could not stop in the cup .We did do some things well but as a TEAM we got some things wrong .To start blaming one player is out of order ,we lost by SIX NOT SIXTY

Every chance that would be the result, but we'll never know. I'm certainly not criticising him for it, he made the decision he did in a split second, had he pulled it off it would've been a great try saving tackle. Again not the reason we lost.

I’d add mcshane and Richardson as being the difference also but led from the front by mata’utia, and obviously Cas wanting the game more than we did .

McShane saved Castlefords bacon last few minutes. Lino threw one of the best inside balls I’ve seen in a long time to Pitts after drawing 2/3 players lateral to open it up. But for McShane busying a gut to knock it dead we would have been level with not long remaining.

Max had a shocker for sure but when on song, he's so important to our attacking line.

Our problem is our pack........a good 5 or 6 years together and it's beginning to take it's toll on the body.

We really do need a quality hooker & some fresh forwards (and not second rowers!)

Despite getting beaten by Cas (again), there was very little in the game last night.
Ultimately, we made more mistakes than they did and backed many of those errors up with penalties/resets.

Yes, we are awful on last tackle plays and there is more structure in a sandcastle than our attack in the opposition 20 but, it was the number of mistakes in possession that cost us the game. Ball strips, desperate offloads, crossing etc, etc.
How much possession did we gift to Cas and how many times did we make a balls up with ball in hand and it was still a 6 point game.
Defensively, we're not too far off but, with ball in hand, there is a lot of improving to do (understatement).

Also if we cant challenge for an attacking kick, we may as well go for touch and set our defensive line.

I see all the perfect people are back slagging off and bagging players, its a team game you win and lose together individual mistakes contribute but do not cost the game last night.

DONT TOUCH THE WATCH

Re: Max jowitt : Thu Jun 17, 2021 12:31 pm
Nobody will be a harsher critic than Max himself I’m sure. Yes he did some poor stuff but genuinely I’ve never seen him have an off game, he’s consistently a very good player for us. Jowitt as a player is the least of our problems in terms of quality.

I'm disappointed with the loss but at least the 'perfect people' on RLFans have got chance to say something. It was really quiet while we were winning.
