Think we need to look at our own backyard before we start slinging mud at Aus and NZ.

Aus & NZ's decision makes a laughing stock of our game. It is now essential that the World Cup progresses as planned. There are enough antipodean players in England and France to create Australian and NZ teams and probably Tonga and Samoa. We can make use of player agents to find any players down under who aren't contracted to the NRL and invite them to represent their countries. Money shouldn't be a problem as Aus & NZ have opted out of having a share of the profits.

I thought something similar myself.

The worry for me is that the patched up teams would still be in contention.

Good as it makes it competitive I hear you say.

Bad as most of the representatives would normally be 10th choice for the shirt. Imagine what Aus and NZ would make of that

How these two nations can justify withdrawing beggars belief. Athletes from both countries are participating in the Olympics in Tokyo where the virus is rampant the Wallabies and the All blacks rugby union are touring the UK in the autumn and the cricket team is off to India. Everything they have asked for has apparently being put in place to ensure their safety. Their decision is a disgrace and proves that they consider themselves to rule the roost.

Two reason is they have had less cases of covid than we have had in one week .We have got the highest cases of covei and deaths in Europe .And we have got a government who are saying as long as London is ok stuff the rest of the country .They have even made it compulsory to were mask on public transport in London but no were else

Please let me know how they can travel to the UK to play cricket and at wimbledon?
They are participating in the Olympics,
They will travel to the T20 world cup in the UAE.
They haven't consulted the players on this decision.
As was stated by the RFL, they had met all the criteria asked for and the fact that when it was announced as still taking place, only Aus hadn't signed.
NZ had.
Postpone it to 2022?
What happens if there's no improvement in Covid then? Postpone it to 2023?
Everyone is banging on how they've controlled it. They have totally isolated themselves to think that will rid themselves of the virus.
Their vaccination programme is poor.
They will at some point succumb to variants and will be back at square one.

Really?
I'd like you to explain why.

Because Australia and NZ are very good at Isolating from Covid. They have done a much better job than UK and the rest of Europe. If the rates were the other way around, you would not send British players from a successful league to play a few games, living in bubbles, just to come home to even more isolation!

See my above post as we were supposedly discussing the world cup.
As for this post, their "isolating" hasn't been that successful has it? despite banning everyone and their mother from entering.
They continue to have lockdowns despite not letting anyone in and will continue to do so until they get their act together with vaccinations.

Totally agree we have ballsed up our vaccinations so bad - we here in Sydney are entering our 2nd month of lockdown , and its likely to be extended .
However i believe the teams should be travelling ! i don't understand the logic behind it when every other sport can do it

sadly i think its driven by the players who have had enough of the lockdowns and bubble life they are now in to keep the NRL going,

not a bad shout to make the aussie and nz teams up out of the players currently based in the UK
