Just want to say on a personal note that I’m so excited at these guys entering the professional rugby league scene.
As a wakey fan through and through but now living in Cornwall about 5 miles from where there playing I’ll be getting a season ticket and giving them my full support.
At last I’ll be able to watch some live games again except when coming back to see family.
Wakey first but for me wow just wow and hope they do well. No reason not to and about time as there’s plenty of us notherners down here and even when my lads play for Truro rfu as lads they all played rugby league in training for the speed so there’s a decent respect for our game down here.
Expansion that makes sense not globe trotting Bol.ox
Happy trim fan. Now just for a challenge cup game down here against trin and I’ll be in heaven.

I doubt they’ll still exist within five years.

Won't last 2 never mind 5 This is another white elephant ! Which players are going to play down there ? They are going to have to start off with players from the north who can't get a game up here, And after a couple of round trips of 12 + hours traveling with a game in between won't be long before they get fed up, and training wheres that going to be held if say half the squad are based down south and half up north! Remember the team south wales rl 1995 think it lasted 2 seasons if that , this is another 150 miles further on IT WILL NOT WORK.

Genuine good luck to the club in their endeavours to establish the game down in Cornwall , I’m all for RL expansion wherever it may be , here or abroad . The games dying in the heartland so everyone keeps telling me , so good on em for having the balls to set it up and have a go .

Seems a strange question to ask on the Trinity board. To the best of my knowledge we have no experts on the amateur leagues in Cornwall however, a simple Google search will tell you who is in the South West League and Conference.

I'm sure the comments were based on previous experiences of expansion, most of which have failed miserably.
I would say taking a RL club to Cornwall is a bit like taking the internet to North Korea - the locals don't know it, you excepted!
It's good to know you'll be their season ticket holder.
I'd like it to get a grip there, but in all honesty, I think it will probably do well to last as long as RL did in the opposite corner of the country - Kent Invicta

The more I look into this the less sceptical I am.

1: Not much football in Cornwall.

2: Surprising number of well-run clubs in the South West, a Mecca of RL compared to Ottawa. Probably around 3-400 junior and senior players doing the rounds, not huge but a start.

Devon Sharks, Exeter Centurions, North Devon Raiders, Plymouth Titans, Somerset Vikings and of course Cornwall Rebels (AKA Cornwall RLFC) the parent club.

3: Rugby Union is the main sport, but, the Cornish and the RFU have a fractious relationship, not dissimilar to our own during the great schism. Converting people to watching RL may be relatively easy if done well. Ditto the players, many Cornish players consider themselves overlooked, perfect conditions to convert.

4: A place to go. Cornwall is one of the few destinations in the UK that will get RL fans to make a 'weekend' of it. So away support should be good, this in turn also attracts sponsors as it did in Catalan.

It's still a long shot but compared to the Canada fiasco it's one I'm happy to back whenever I can.
