Realistically TJ has had 3 games this year after a long lay off. A very long lay off.
He has failed to put together a good string of games for a full season.
This isn’t the final squad.
I’m sure Wane will have been in touch with TJ and had discussions with him over what he needs to do and I would think that would be focus on getting games for Trinity. He doesn’t need the England distraction at the moment he needs to put together a run of games where he can continue to perform how he is and stay fit. If he does that he will be in the England squad before too long.
His biggest competition probably doesn’t come from anyone named in that squad Hall and Jerry are good players but on the decline. Liam Marshall had a patch of injuries but has come back remarkably well his form has been fantastic since his return and he deserves his call but again he isn’t on the same level as TJ when both firing, he’s just ahead of him in his comeback. It’s the likes of Herbie Farnworth and Dom Young who I think will emerge as real contenders for wing places come the World Cup and if we take 4 wingers as long as TJ stays healthy and continues as he has started the season he will be one of them I am sure.
The surprise from my point of view are the inclusion of Hardaker who I don’t think gets a game at Wigan this year, great to see Lewis Dodd in who is in form over Widdop who seems to be struggling.
