Just been following the game on Twitter… which sounded exciting… and close… so I thought I would find out more… but I can’t find where the rules and guidelines of scholarship Rugby League are documented.


Help!…. what is scholarship Rugby League??

U16 & u15 age group.

It was a cracking game tonight between 2 well matched sides.

Been down it was a great game..

So scolaship is basically for ages 14 -16.so clubs will go round all community clubs and find players to make up a squad of around 35-40 and normally you go for 2 years starting at 14.then after the 2 years its up to club to keep you on academy or not keep ya.its a good way of developing young lads.i know wakey train 3 times a week and the lads stay at there community clubswakey scholar coach is former player jamie field.most sl clubs run scolaship sides justvthe french that dont i believe and there is a few outside too like bradford and london

My lad went, said it was a great crowd.

Spoke to Jamie Rooney who’s lad plays for Cas.

Also the Brough playing for Wakey, any relation to Danny?

Looking at them you wouldn't think so, he must dwarf his old man.

Very similar kicking style though. He went well last night.

Really enjoyed the game think fatigue kicked in towards the end and defences dropped off but the lads will not have played to that intensity in a while. Quite a few going down in with cramp.

Great to see 4 on the u15s scholarship playing too and more than holding their own. The 13 from Gateshead Finley Thompson, who was one of the lads playing a year up was outstanding, a great prospect.

No ollie is in the academy, he was scolaship last year. Academy is the next step they train more and do sign a contract and get paid

Im glad people who went all say it was a good game.i know there will of been alot of parnts from both clubs but stil others who went myself included, hope there good number for the academy game tomorrow too the lads train hard and deserve some support.ill be there although my lad is playing buti woukd of gone id he wasnt
