Out of contract by 2023 : Sat Apr 02, 2022 11:19 pm  

Just been pondering that we have plenty of players out of contract this season… yet next season .. Trinity 150 and the opening of the new facilities… I just wonder how many would willingly turn away and not be a part of that momentous year for the club… particularly the way the team has developed in the past few months…

Assuming of course it doesn’t all fall apart and we get relegated (50+ years as a Trinity fan has dulled the optimist in me )

I honestly don’t think it matters one iota to any player unless they are also Wakefield fans. I really wouldnt see Wakefield being 150 years old as a reason to sign a contract. It’s a short career snd unless you have ties to the club you do what’s best your your family (generally - there are always exceptions) there is a lot to be said for being happy at work though and being in a group of good friends could be a big pull to stay

We’re in a much stronger position both on and off the field since I care to remember. The overriding feeling I get is that players come to wakefield who don’t necessarily know much about us ,maybe using us as a stepping stone ,but either stop long term , Milky/Arona spring to mind or leave without best wishes and have nothing but good memories with the closeness and camaraderie that exists at the club ,obviously there are exceptions to this ,A Tupou springs to mind who came when not 100% or even poor A Walker who I really felt wasn’t given a fair shot before being sent packing . But on the whole players enjoy their time here and I think that goes a long way in enticing them here in the first place ,and long may it continue .

Don't think Alex was crap or else we wouldn't have signed him, just unlucky really, he looked better playing for London than us, as for Adam decent player just couldn't behave himself and cost him his job.

Alex was OK but out of his depth, a big move from London to Wakey.

Adam Walker was a top-notch forward, who as Chiss states just couldn't get his act together off the pitch,
