I wanted to reply to alegend in another thread, but that's been locked for juvenile behaviour...... Anyway, in reply to alegend, I always come back to Warrington for comparisons, when people moan about who we sign etc. I'm sure we could all come up with a shopping list of players if we could spend up to the cap. Let's take Warrington in the last 18 months, Widdop then Williams, 2 players who were regularly cutting it in the NRL, are Warrington now better since they arrived?! I would say not, imagine if they had signed Miller from us, then bought Lino, there fans would have been up in arms, yet I would rather have them 2 than Widdop & Williams right now, wouldn't you??
I'd rather have players who can play together as a team but a superstar wouldn't hurt.
The point about the NRL is that players often come over, both English and Australian who are not as good as they were in NRL. For me it's because they have equal talent along side them in depth. Warrington aren't misfiring because of the halfbacks. The halfbacks are misfiring because their pack is getting beaten. Same issue we have. If you put Westerman back in our side or add Watts, we'd be competing in the top 6. Without them, especially without Big Dave, our half backs are feeding off scraps again.

Sorry Wildmoggy Think Lino and Miller are as a pair are the best two halfs we have had at Wakefield for a long time so I agree but 2 good signings with 4 bad signnings defeats the object
Lino certainly embarrassed both of the wires half in those games ,but as been said we need them both on the field playing behind a dominant pack which in turn opens up the field to our backs . Unfortunately all the pieces of the jigsaw haven’t dropped into place nearly enough to mount any kind of consistency this season . Get only part of that jigsaw on the field and it’s not pretty .

Even the Wire fans agreed. One of the wrote - and I quote "Our half-backs have been schooled by Tattoo from Fantasy Island in a Wakefield shirt." Absolute Gold. Made I larf.

you could have best half backs in the world but if they are playing behind a beaten pack they are unlikely to win a game

Ok, I was pretty underwhelmed by the singings, but let's say we'd have got Sezer, Mcintosh & Hill, would we now be sat in the top 4 and in the semis of the cup?! Mcintosh was supposedly one of the best young prospects out there, but he's been terrible for Hull so far, but I bet most would have chosen him over Lineham. Getting back to Warrington, Poptart is right that their pack is getting beaten most games, Cooper, Clarke, Philbin, Currie etc, all current internationals! They have according to a lot of people, now the best coach in the league, yet they are struggling badly, despite clearly having the finances to compete with Saints, Wigan etc. They are a prime example of having more money than they know what to do with, 2 examples, Greg Inglis & Luther Burrell.....I rest my case. Let's get onto Hudds, I looked at their team the other day, Cogger and Russell at half back, both Seniors playing, yet they are consistent and Watson could do a Salford with them. They don't really have any superstars, and have lost Sezer, Connor, Mcintosh, Edwards in the last couple of years, but yet look better now, probably because they have pound for pound the best coach in the league. Don't get me wrong, i'd love us to compete financially, and see if we could bring some glory days back, but it's just not that simple sometimes is it.
