The book launch of "In a League of his own" the biography of Brian Lockwood will be held in Queen's Mill Aire Street Castleford on Monday 11th September from 2 p.m. for a 2.30 start. The speakers will include Brian along with David Hinchcliffe, John Ledger and Gerry Wright. Missed out big time with Lockwood… great player and great coach… and went on to huge success with both Widnes and HKR

I think he fell out with the committee over the signing of Mike Lampkowski?

Only remember us struggling during his short spell as both player and coach.
Think we relied on someone like Hunslet or York surprisingly beating a rejuvenated Hull FC late in the season (all three going down in the end) to save us from relegation whilst he was here???? Was suppin in the Malt Shovel at the end of Broadway listening to the game on radio. Big relief.

Yes, maybe Rochdale the other club. Probably all 4 yoyo'd back up the following year.

Hull spent big that relegation year and nearly escaped and certainly improved from then on.
