Wembley : Mon Sep 18, 2023 12:30 pm
So, yes I know I'm looking for silver linings in a hurricane of clouds but I've just realised we have a realistic chance at playing at Wembley this year if we take 1895 Cup seriously.

I go every year so I'm not changing any plans but it would be nice to see the red, white and blue at Wembley again, even if not for the big show.

Who beat Fev this year?

You'd have thought realistically they had the biggest chance. Running with a SL standard squad.

Focus should solely be on promotion, if we get a trophy along the way then happy days.

Been dreaming about watching Trinity at Wembley for years and although the 1895 cup wasn't part of the plan, like you, I would love to see them paying there.
We could still make it in the Challenge Cup instead :D

They Didn't qualify for it from memory, the 4 last non SL teams in Challenge cup qualify and this year they were Halifax, Batley, York & London :thumb:

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

It's not just a trophy, it hold the equivalent weighting with IMG of roughly 1 league place too

Yes, I've had that dream of a Wembley trip too, as the last one in 1979 was just before my time. I started supporting in 1980.

Also, 1979 happened to be a year that Wakefield Schools got to Wembley in the curtain raiser, sadly beaten I believe, by St Helens. My late father was part of the Wakefield Schools coaching set up at that point.
