Well he's a step closer today.
Dom Young has been sent off.

That'll show how far up the pecking order Murphy is.

Sometimes when it’s going good and things aren’t broken it’s better to stay where you are than to chase more money elsewhere. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side

He's not part of the first team squad, he's in the Pathways/Jersey Flegg comp. So I suppose the Roosters have to run out of first team options, and I guess at this point they have a few. However if that fails then they will promote from the reserve comp. For Lewis to get the nod he's have to be the best Winger in the Roosters reserve team. He's new and he's still coming back from injury, so I doubt hes the top winger at present.

Much as I'd love him to progress it's probably too soon.

All the comments about being nowhere near TJ, I feel I have to put my opinion over. I've known Dom Young since he was 10 (even coached him for 1 year) seen him play all through his junior days and scholarship and academy at Hudds and the couple of SL game he got, and although he was extremely athletic and coachable, he looked distinctively average, what has made the difference is the coaching, this is where Australia is so far in front of us. He has been turned in to a World Class winger there is no doubt and if Murphy gets the same level of coaching as he did, he will turn out as good if not better, at 19 in SL Murphy looked a better prospect than Dom at the same stage. :thumb:

The TJ v Lewis argument is not about who's the best winger, only time will tell.

It's a about where they were at that respective age, and the facts are that TJ had done a fair bit more by the time he was 22. I realise Lewis picked up his ACL earlier than TJ (I think?) but I don't think he'd have had much of a season with us last year anyway. So TJ would still have been ahead imho.

As for Dom, he was born for the NRL, so long as he keeps learning. In every respect he's already there other than gaining the experience he needs and thus learning the lessons. It' up to him now, but that pee poor tackle didn't help.

Would be good to see Murphy back at Trinity one day.

Would love to see TJ, Walmsley and Murphy all at trinity. That would be a real embarrassment of riches!
