It's March and it's going to be raining, so yes, it's going to be very muddy, as it has been in thousands of rugby league games for over 100 years. I'm sure players on both sides will roll their sleeves up and get on with the game.

Unless you're suggesting there is something intrinsically dangerous about the pitch, which I've never heard in over 50 years watching Fev?

I think you're more likely to get injuries on harder pitches.
From my experience the heavier pitches slow the game down and sometimes the unexpected happens.
Not today I hope.

The kicking game is what worries me. Can’t remember the last time we had a good one. Perhaps Brough and Rooney. Jeffries maybe.

Anyway, today’s game will be a messy affair. Need to control the ball, limit mistakes and play at the right end of the pitch.

The worst thing about this game is the fact it will be energy sapping and we have a short turn round to face bulls in 5 days to open the season with a full house. Not idea at all.

We have an advantage because we have played more competitive matches on this pitch this year than Featherstone. (I think).
