| So Wigan Warrior's next.
A huge test of our squad... can we do it?
Some say Wigans performance last week was a little below par, whereas we will have quite a bit of confidence after a good performance against the Crusaders.
Phelps could get his first outing for us - maybe even Gleeson.
Several players out for Wigan - were missing Long, but Obst seems to be playing his part and Richard Horne is entering some form.
Heart says, "Maybe.... just maybe...", brain says, "Chance so remote it barely registers!"
Either way - I don't think Hull FC will get done over, I just want a solid and passionate performance... with hopefully something to show for it!

A huge task, even if we had been playing incredibly well and not so cold and freezing as we have been.
I'll settle for a comitted and professional performance, if Phelps is here in time I don't think he should start, from my undersatnding of Friday nobody deserves to lose their place other than for injuries.

I get your point about not playing him - I suppose that is down to the coaches assessment of how he gets on in training... I would imagine jet lag is the primary concern, but I'm sure he will have taken measures to counter that as much as possible.
Phelps definitely arrives Wednesday in case you hadn't heard.

I've read a lot of "definites" over the years, as you say, depends on how he manages the travel etc.

| We were a little below par last week, but after such a draining game in WCC, many of us expected it. The nice thing now is we've got 10 days in between playing Salford and yourselves to recharge the batteries. Although we'll be without 10 of our players for two days this week while their away on England duty. Plus not forgetting were still missing Fielden, Richards, Finch and possibly Roberts, and more than likely Gleeson. But all that being said I'm still confident of victory.
Good to see it's on Sunday for you guy's, it should make traveling over a whole lot easier.

| If he is fit and copes with the travel well etc I would be quite happy for him to slot straight in at full back with whiting going back to right centre to sure up the right hand side, I'd be quite happy for turner to lose his place he's not doing it for me and he leaving will sharp high and dry alot of the time, although sharp is not totally faultless.
I won't be expecting to much when I go to Wigan on Sunday, as long as I see 100% effort and commitment I will be relatively happy!

Is Turner doing that badly, or is he suffering from being over hyped?

I said his best position IMO was centre but his defence is quite poor and he hasn't done anything of note, I can't remember him making any breaks, good passes etc.
I just think whiting is the better option overall, hrs got the better all round game and in the friendly at donny (poor opposition) he scored tries off high kicks something I think we could utilise very well with obst's kicking game, which he has looked to do in the last few games but we don't have any real size in the 3/4's for this to be effective. He is also very good at reading the game and has the hands to put his winger away, just a personal opinion and I prefer whiting.

That's fair enough, it's good to get opinion based on what you have observed, my own view is that Turner was "bigged up" too much when we signed him.

I would agree with you there, he has all the skill sets to be a good centre, he has strength, pace and decent hands but he has not progressed, but this may also be down to him chopping and changing positions he arguably played better at the beginning of this season at six as he was involved alot more, but since his move to centre I've hardly noticed him which is a key point when assessing his performance. If he can sort his defence out and get involved in the game a bit more from centre we would have a decent player.
Whiting will have trained all off season as starting centre and I think he will go straight in to that position when phelps is fit.

Can't disagree with any of that, but this is the problem, Agar brings people in and then uses them in completely the wrong way.
