I have lost interest

FC 16s v Kr : Sat Jun 12, 2021 1:38 am
I just watched 10 mins highlights on YouTube. It must be great for the kids to finally play a Derby. I am a positive person re Youth playing rugby as I coached from U7s to U15s in Hull.

Rovers scored first with an NFL touchdown from the Rovers number 2 who looks a lot like Gareth Keenan from The Office.
Please check that first non try Touchdown - it's amazing and I have no idea how it was given. I had to rewind 3x and still can't believe it.

The KR number 2 then spills another try that should have been.

I coached Ideal 15s about 12 years ago and they would have beaten both sides. Many players seemed to be 'light' and missing a few meals.
Is this why Hull has just the 1 Academy? no longer enough talent?

Our 6 looked like a big unit.

I'd hope somehow that a lot of our better 16s were in the 17s? I really hope!

Both sides were at full strength.

A week earlier Rovers beat Castleford 16s who were packed with players from Lock Lane who are the current National Cup holders. Suggests to me that Rovers and Hull are no mugs.

You coached the great Isberg team with kev Deighton?

Went to watch it and there was over 1000 people there. Brilliant turn out and the players on the pitch were clearly loving it and thriving off it.
Our number 6 was bossing it until he went off injured late in the first half. After that we didn't have as much to offer in attack and not sure we actually scored any more trys.
Our number 11 was good.

For Rovers, their 14, 11 and 7 were all very good. And their number 8 was a really strong ball carrier, although he needs his birth certificate checking, lad looked about 25!

In truth, I think that Hull would have probably won had your 6 not gone off. He is a good player. I won't talk him up too much though incase a poster misquotes me 10 years down the track if he hasn't won 5 man of steel awards.
