Sao is a bridge I’m going to die on. His issues come from trying too hard and an excessive work load. Should we share the workload out better and not constantly getting whacked he would perform better.

We’re all quick to criticise him when he gets carded/suspended but in reality it’s happening because he’s one of the few players trying to make something happen.

If we look at his cards:

Rovers - ridiculous
Hudds cup - Disciplinary said it wasn’t a late hit.
Hudds league - probably no defence really

SL Top off loader and probably up there in team stats for meters made .

I've just looked at Drinkwaters stats, granted he has only player 3 games, but in those games

0 trys, assists, tackle busts, clean breaks and offloads.

Oli Russell not much better

And that's in much better sides than us.

Think I'd rather stick with Smith, Charles and Trueman.

FC stats just shared this thread on twitter. Might be worth a look

Abe Froman has just replied to your query on the Wire Fans Forum.

He said that Hull FC made a request to take Drinkwater on loan, but the Warrington hierarchy rejected the inquiry.

Stats can be deceiving, Sao may be the top offloader, but how many of those offloads have been dumb offloads on the 1st/2nd tackle and/or in our own 20, that either lead to a knock on, the opposition intercepting the ball or a penalty?

Drinkwater is a complete passenger, I remember noticing during our game there that his shirt was completely clean at the end of the match.

He may do a job in a well oiled machine like when he was at Catalan but he isn't the spark we need.

Sao could be a decent player if he had a brain.

He is a prop, awful defensively out wide.

I think we cam ger better out of a quota player, hopefully the fireman sam story is true.

Anyone else watched the Perham highlights and notice a current Hull player having a shocker a couple of times on the wing.

Exactly, rather stick with what we have, 2/3 more ganes then Trueman back. I wouldn't waste a quota spot on someone like Drinkwater. If we could get someone like O Sullivan on a long deal then I'd bring someone in now, otherwise I'd stick with west we have, unless there is a domestic player. I'd maybe risk Russell on a loan deal, then we can sign am overseas forward.

could have been an option if Smith was still here
