Surely must be able to bring 2/3 quality overseas players with him

On paper I think this is the best we could have hoped for.
Would have liked Rowley, but I prefer the potential with Cartwright over Lam (not that we ever apparently made him an offer anyway).
I hope he's keen on continuing the good work done with the academy and committed to bringing youngsters through.
He will also open up a whole new network of contacts and give us a better chance of Aussie signings.
Will only end up been a good appointment if he is given money and resources to work with. If he wants new/more S&C staff then he needs to be given it. If he thinks warm weather camp is the way to go, we need to do it. Previous coaches in recent times have been hampered by money and resources, if we now have investment available then it needs to be used wisely in not just players but back room and off field staff.

Excited about where this guy could take us.

well it cant be any lower

Think you could be right about Grix
Not a fan of giving the assistant the job when the coach has been sacked when they are all part of the team that failed.
I doubt the new coach knows Grix so could be likely to want an assistant he knows.
Wouldnt surprise me to see Gaz Ellis in there

I like his attitude already!

On what he expects his Hull FC side to look like in 2025, Cartwright added: “They’ll be fit, they’ll be hungry and they’ll be enjoying their footy. If we can get those three things happening, that’ll be an improvement from the word go.

Nice to see it confirmed. Just finished reading his interview and this stands out to me (culture alert for those that hate the word!):

Culture is extremely important and at the end of the day, it means the attitude of your team.

I suppose the best way to describe it is that you know when you’ve got a really good culture just by being in the building. And you can also tell when the culture isn’t quite where it needs to be just by being in the building.

Everyone wants to win, but sometimes winning can hide problems within your culture. It’s about standards, it’s about behaviours and it’s about everybody in the club buying into it.

The man gets it. Welcome aboard Mr Cartwright.

Absolutely this. Has the potential to be our best appointment since Gaz Ellis IMO.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Whether there’s any truth in it or not I had heard Gleesons name as the assistant.

Not sure as to whether Grix stays or goes, Cartwright won’t know many here in the UK to select as an assistant so possibly one of the reasons why Gaz is back.

He certainly seems a Coach that will work his players hard in training and let them know if they aren’t working hard enough.

Be interesting to see how the recruitment path goes now we’ve announced Cartwright.

Gleeson, Grix, whoever. As long as JC is approving it, I'm happy. Really important that the coach has input over his backroom staff even if it's Myler and the club presenting him with candidates.
