I get the Sneyd isn't a Kelly type played, but if it's a choice of Sneyd or going with Cust and Seizer I'd bring Sneyd in both are injury risks and don't want Charles or Kemp playing 10 plus games.
As much as jnlivw Sneyd, I'd have to say it's a no for me. We need a Kelly style off player, someone to take the line on, a bit of a maverick.
Like a few have said, I'd be looking at
Bullock, McDonald, Nikorima and Cross. On the DOR bit Wasn't/isn't Rowley moving up to DOR at Salford end of the season? With all the financial issues there, could we offer Rowley the DOR position? He came very close to leaving them for us anyway, maybe job security with us may sway him. Just a thought....
If it is necessary for Salford to offload players, I’d hope we are able to strengthen our squad.
Personally, I’d like to see Sneyd, Cross, Bullock and McDonald come to us, with potential player exchanges as part of the deal.
I do wonder how the RFL are going to facilitate the situation. If it was a financial administrator it would be based on the best deal for the current organisation/creditors. I worry that the RFL might think well if we give Hull Sneyd, we’ll let Rovers have McDonald and Saints someone else…etc.
There is also the fact that whilst some players might want to come to Hull as we are offering an enhanced contract and more security, some players might may want to stay in the NW for personal reasons. However, this is the first time in over 20 years we have had this scenario, so anything could happen.
It’s an awful situation for Salford fans and players to be in, however the ownership/management of the club has been poor for a while now.
Hull are in a fortunate position of now having the funds and a squad that requires strengthening in several areas. With cap/quota dispensations, we have to make our move, as other clubs will only be acting in self-interest.
I hope Salford do pull through this situation. However, whilst I’m not against IMG, questions need to be asked about how Salford got a Grade A rating. The length of a TV gantry and Pixel definitions can not be rated on par with financial stability.

Agree. The original plan was to go with Sezer and Abdull so if Sneyd did happen (unlikely IMO) that’s an upgrade anyway and would give us great last tackle options and direction when both on the field and just give us better depth if and when one got an injury. For me look at the difference someone like Reynolds made for us last season, he was hardly a world beater but we looked a completely different side with a bit of direction. Moy’s going to get game time and he hopefully will bring that threat from broken play like Kelly did.
I also think Sezer and Cust could be better than people are seemingly giving them credit for. Sezer is just quality and Cust I’m sure there’s more to come. Wigan fans seemed to like him at 6 and he was first choice for a season and half from what I remember. He got an injury and was unlucky that French then switched to 6 and became the best player in the competition. When he signed for Wigan Manly put in a first refusal clause if he returned to the NRL so they rated him highly, hopefully we can get that bit more out of him.
However, the IMG oversight and weighting on a club’s financial viability is valid. This shouldn’t be coming to a head one month before the season starts, when those ratings were finalised in September. It’s not fair on the fans, players, clubs and credibility of the competition.

Think Seizer is a very underrated signing, he played well last year for Wests, I'm sure they only won when he played. Was very good in his first season at Hudds, hit and miss at Leeds, but think alot of that was down to injuries.
Cust the same, he is a good played if he gets a run of games .
Looking on social media it’s maybe not quite what was hinted at yesterday with Salford. They say they’re negotiating with investors to get something sorted, but it seems that the RFL won’t be inviting or accepting bids for players, it’s still down to Salford if they sell. The RFL have reccomended they cut costs but it’s down to them how they do it. The quota/cap dispensation could be an option but would need a vote from clubs and not all are expected to agree to that.
Maybe not quite the ‘fire sale’ as reported yesterday, from purely Hulls point of view I think that’s better then an absolute free for all for all their players. We obviously want Cross and have been working on a deal a while, think they might be willing to sacrifice him with the other talent they have in the backline.

I'd be chuffed to bits if Cust is a success at Hull. The concern is he seems to have struggled badly since the arm injury all the way back in the cup final of 2022. Appears to have lost power in his passing game with lots of balls going to ground and he's also had a tough time defensively.
