What a great few years he has had with our club and how Wembley meant even more to him, Danny H, Jamie Shaul etc than it did to the rest of the squads, if it meant so much to the the imports etc then for all the local boys made good it was simple awesome. He never stopped talking about it for months afterwards. He had a tough journey from Wigan to us with a year on loan at Salford, as a rather petulant Wigan made him play his last year with the Red Devils even though he had tried to get released after 2 years of his contract. All the while with his Dad saying all year, he'll be back at FC next season never fear and thankfully he got home eventually. That picture of him at Wembley holding up the 'What you gonna sing now Hull KR' placard beaming from ear to ear, will live forever with me.
He cared for the fan base too (as he was one of them) and when I launched the two books in support of both Kirk and Danny's Testimonial, who was first to turn up on the night and who stayed all night talking to the fans? He's been carrying a foot injury all season, but has had a brilliant final hurrah! As Mrs B so rightly says he has been an absolute Warrior through some really difficult times. Great that he's staying at the Club, he's obviously impressed Smithy with his love of it. But thanks for some great memories Tag' your one of the 16/17 conquering Hero's who will be remembered forever by a whole generation of FC fans.
