You'd be mad to even think you could reform Carney. Great player but too many demons were drink is concerned. Brett Seymour had similar problems and look how that turned out. Rovers 'thought' they could turn around Ulugia and that has gone tits up.

I honestly can't understand anyone wanting the loser at the club. He has all the talent in the world, but doesn't appreciate it or any self/club integrity whatsoever.

It's not just his recent incident we he's sacked, he will be on a once chance and you're out contract with every club now until he's finished. His one chance has now gone, at his third NRL club, and he's only 28. Waster.

Normally I would completely agree, but we are in such a mess with our half-back situation yet again that I think we have to gamble.

He's a 28 year old NRL half-back who played Origin only 2 years ago, we simply aren't going to get anyone near that quality or age, so if there's a chance we can get him we have to take it.

surely we can do a contract where he has to submit to regular alcohol tests and sign up to a strict code of conduct on a 'one mistake and your out' basis.

we've never managed such a thing before, I'd rather keep losing than have someone like him associated with our club, the guy is a born loser and trouble with a capital, double underlined, bold and italic T!

So you'd rather have 2 'nice guys' in the halves serving up dross year after year??

I'd rather have someone exciting to watch who can help us win.

Maybe standee would be happy if we come top of the fair play league instead of winning any games?

If he signs for a SL team we'll regret not getting him for sure

Way out of our league. No chance of signing him whatever he's done. And I think Cronulla sacking him is a total overreaction, and one they'll regret.

Let's not forget Huddersfield signed him a few years ago only for his visa to denied. Since then I would imagine his list of potential suitors in the NRL has only got smaller. The issue isn't whether we could sign him, it's whether he'd get the visa this time, and I would be doubtful of that.

He has done some stupid things, but there are already players in the squad who have done worse. He could end up being trouble, but in terms of ability he's streets ahead of anyone else who would be available and would be, imo, the best half in Superleague.
