If it allows Griffin to permanently move into the pack then it's a good move, plus it gives us a good back up plan if Kelly doesn't stay beyond his contract, how long does Naulogo stay, does Connor move to the NRL, ideally we would sign Fonua if one of these happens the season after next, so the timing isn't perfect, but it is too good an opportunity to turn down.

Squad game now, as both Hull teams know very rarely are able to put out a full strength side.
Fans moaning about not needing him are thinking too short term, luckily radford and Pearson aren't and see Fonua playing for Hull for the next 5/6 years.
As long as it doesn't effect our ability to bring in a few more forwards I can't see why we wouldn't sign him.
If Fonua does come back I hope it’s as a winger, he’s a lot better there due to his suspect defence. Gets exposed far too often playing in the centres. Although this could be down to how Hull play in defence, been bunched up which is what Radders has mentioned previously on the radio Humberside.
