There needs to be a partition between radford being a player and radford being a head coach.

Theres been no gap. Ideally he would be an assistant away from the club for 2/3 seasons.

This is disaster written all over it.

It's one thing being a part of the squad then becoming an assistant. That's happened at many clubs, they can have a sort of good cop bad cop thing between them and the head coach and be a go between, for the players and head coach.

But they need that time away from the squad if they are going to be the head guy. It just doesn't work otherwise. It doesn't. He can't have the same authority or respect.

Hull have been making poor head coach appointment for the last 5 years and it's the main thing stopping them from becoming real challengers.
