Although as Chris says, contracts aren't worth anything and in a salary cap sport, the power is with the player.

I don’t think the power is with the player in this instance. As his contract winds down the balance will shift though. He could chuck a massive tantrum, but that’d make potential suitors look askance. And tbf, I don’t think he seems the type.

Hull didn’t release Abdull, Litten or Hadley out of the goodness of their heart or with the players’ careers progress at the forefront of their minds. Or if they did, it’s not a precedent I’d want Rovers to follow.

If he isn’t in Peters’ plans longer-term, then any potential fee will change to reflect that. Don’t want to be weakening the squad mid-season though. Could be worth another look at the end of the year - but the ooc cupboard is pretty bare, so he’d not be easy to replace.

All he has to do is refuse to play or train, what can Rovers or any club do?

I honestly think Radford did with Litten, will have been on a low wage, could have got a small fee, why else would he release him.

Yeah can't fault his effort, just not good enough. I know family comes first, just wish he would have made this decision at the end of last season.
