We are also in need of a scrum half...lets hope he passes his fitness test.

as i said on another thread couple of days ago, i wonder if Denis Moran could be prised away from Widnes. He was excellent against Leigh. I know they are a division below, but he was one of super leagues top performers for 2 years at Quins. he has a good kicking game, and his distribution is good. also he doesnt rely on other players making things happen for him. IMO he is what a good scrum half should be.

There is a reason Dennis Moran went to Widnes in the first place.

Anyway, when Cookey is back he will be our main kicker and organiser and Horne will be left to take on the line and support breaks. These two are a good partnership imo and there is no point rushing in and panic buying any old scrum half who comes on the market. If anyone worthwhile becomes available in the off season (Orford, Sherwin, Kimmorley or anyone like that) then we should put an offer in, but for now I think we should leave it as it is.

Remind me how he went for Wigan last season.

Looking good against a dreadful Leigh side is hardly difficult. SL is a different matter entirely.

And that's why it's now been merged into an existing thread.
Why people feel the need to start a new one every week is a mystery to me. They don't have to look that far back to find the last one.
