Just where do you think Stuart Cummings is going to conjure up replacements from?
Why don't we have a wealth of experienced referees, all lined up and ready to take charge of pro games, as back-up because an under-performing referee has been dropped?
I'll tell you why. It's because our game, from youth level up, is inflicted with know-nowt numpties, who choose to vent all their frustrations out on the referee. I've lost count of the number of promising young referees I've seen in the past, who were lost to the game because they were subjected to abuse from parents, speccies and coaches.
I'm not defending Childs but you have to realise that there is little alternative when the referee pool is so shallow. Just think about that, the next time you think you know better than the young lad, who has bothered to get a whistle and take charge of an under 11 game. Why should he bother to be the subject of touchline abuse from some idiot who has never read The Laws of the Game?
I know that you will always defend refs Dave but tonight Mr Childs gave the worst display of refereeing that I have ever seen in my years watching the game - he was totally out of his depth and Stuart Cummings should hang his head in shame by selecting him for a game played (and I know we are not top of the pops as a team at the moment) between a fast playing team (CAS) and one of the best supported at probably the best Stadium. Its like giving you a Wembley Final Mate !!! I think Mr Childs will not have a game at the KC again.
I came away tonight 100% happy with my team , everyone of those players put there body on the line ,how fitz managed to keep his cool with that joke of a ref was beyond me. I really hope that agar did speak his mind and takes the fine because games like tonights cannot be allowed to go unpunished by the rugby league.childs should be brought to justice for that performance as it just makes a mockery of our great game.
Childs was awful for both teams tonight, truely a disgrace and the RFL need an inquest into this idiots officiating.
To be fair, he helped no team, his standard of refereeing is so bad he will penalise anyone or any team, a majority of all tries tonight came from each others penalties, especially one of your which started from on your line when Ferres gave a needless penalty away.
To me it wasn't a great game by either team nor official.
Apparently banging on the windows of the press room and chanting!
This is what I read too via an RL reporter on twitter. An absolute showing up of our fans if it is true. Didn't these people see how hard those lads tried tonight?? I could have understood it in a way if it was after the Wakey match, but I still think it was disgraceful behaviour, they can all bugger off as far as I'm concerned. As you may realise I've been fuming since I read about it!

Child was a joke and without doubt cost Hull the match. A blitz of penalties against us at the beginning of each half killed us. An absolute joke the guy is and he'll be reffing next week without a doubt.
