I would sign Webster for the remainder of this season . He has to be better than Thorman.

But presumably wouldn't do on a half season contract. So we're then tying ourselves into another average player for the medium term. If he were a cheap back-up half back, that would be OK, but on any other terms would be a completely stupid decision.
