He didn't mention the word fickle for sure. I can't really remember what he said but the gist was that he thanked the loyal hard core support and mentioned that he was less interested in those who change their minds a lot.
No problem with criticism when it's balanced - I have criticised him as well. As I've said elsewhere maybe he was addressing those who were musically delighting in his impending downfall just four days ago.
During the SL era it's abysmal. Played 19, won 4, according to our website. We do happen to have had a fairly decent few years, though.
If he hasn't labelled fans fickle, then that's less of a problem. He's well within his rights to voice his own opinion, as long as he too is fair. I don't personally think it's a wise idea, however. Neither do I think he's right if he thinks fans are changing their minds a lot, either. Fan unease has been steadily rising throughout his tenure and many have now formed an opinion they're sticking to.
Lastly, it's perfectly understandable that having people chant for your sacking stings a bit. His reaction today will probably only increase the chances of a recurrence next time we lose, though.
