If Ben Crooks is on his way which is looking extremely likely then it reinforces the point that Radford is as clueless as a lot of supporters said when he was given the job.Peter Gentle brought in Crooks and turned him into a Dream Team player and now he seems to be Radfords whipping boy when he looks for someone to blame but himself.Crooks might not be the best defensively but isnt it part of the coaches job to work with players to improve their game for the benefit of the team.

I'd even buy into Radfords excuse that crooks defence is poor if he'd been replacing him with a centre who could defend - but he hasn't.

At the end of the day, crooks is just as likely to score you a match winning try as he is to concede a try to lose the game. Were losing games anyway so why not have his attacking flair on the pitch.

Pearson fumed after Luke Briscoe. Stated it's never happening again. If crooks goes. It's worse than L Briscoe

Would be sad to see him depart.
Remember talking to Papa Crooks (in a pub, unsurprisingly ) telling me that PG was gonna give him the chance at senior level to make the breakthrough and which he initially grabbed with both hands.

Spot on Paintman. Under PG, Crooks thrived for the most part and claimed Young Super League Player of the Year. I think we are all aware that his defence isn't his strongest area but his attacking qualities made up for that. And being young, his defence has time to improve with some good coaching. Unfortunately he's not got that under Radford and instead has found himself made a scapegoat by our illustrious coach and shipped out to Donny. This may have helped improve a confidence issue that has been alluded to but I fear Radford's early season antics have cost us a very good player.

crooks is a fine young player. What he has is impossible to coach and his deficiencies are something a good coach can address. I'll be gutted if we let him go

Just a thought.

How about playing Crooks at left centre??
(Normally he'd get more opportunities to attack, and less defence on that side) might improve his confidence.

Or maybe not... that's Yeamans side.- left centre.
