I don't think their fans would say that anyone of their players has had a good game for two seasons.

Shaun Wane had him in an England train on squad last year, And Wayne Bennett had him in before that. So those top coaches thought he was doing things right.

Lynne is 30, his next contract is likely his last. He's shown he's a loyal player/person and a good professional. But he still probably wants to achieve some goals that he never has at Wakefield. Like playing in some finals and semi-finals. There's still probably a bit of hunger there and add that to his experience and his professionalism, then he ticks boxes for me.

Wouldn’t touch Lynne with a barge poll at his age and injury record. He would just prevent our youth from developing. I also believe he’s retiring and has been in contact with Humberside police about potentially becoming a police officer.

I had believed when we release Evans we’d be looking at having a player in for the Leigh game. Obviously not. There’s some good Players becoming available from the NRL. We should try bring them in this season to get the deal over the line with less competition. It will also give them time to settle

Danny Washbrook was probably seen as a terrible signing by some when we brought him back at the back end of his career. He ended up finishing with two Challenge cup winners medals.

Good squad player was Washbrook, not sure anyone but you would think Lynne would be a good signing.

Injury prone, old amd out of form, the exact player we should be avoiding, lose Shaul and replace him with the same type of player. Would block the path of some of our exciting young backs.

I don't see Smith making a Will Smith type signing, think he will make a signing if it improves us and is long term.

So who is blocking their path at the moment? Because right now, these exciting young three quarters aren't making many appearances.

We are talking about next season, 10 months away, another pre season, not right now.

I can't think of one reason to sign Lynn.

Have to say I tend to agree that any move for Lynn would be pointless as he just wouldn't improve us either in the short or term.

Smith has said that the club are indeed looking for and at players even to bring in this season but for that to happen he stressed they would also need to signings for next season as well and once that would improve the squad. No more knee jerk short term signings which for me shows there is a real structured plan moving forward.

Agree with comments about Lynn - good solid pro, but doubt would get selected here ahead of current centres.

To push on we need top 4 players. To me the best example of our poor squad was the lack of a single player in the 40 man GB squad ( which didn't include the 10 or so in Aus ). I thought Swift was our closest to that but all seem convinced we are losing him too.

In TS we trust, I don't get the 'dropping' comments, it is all about squad rotation, bringing guys on in a timely manner, motivation through reward, nursing injuries, squad to combat the opposition etc - standard management really.
