I'm sure Pele will be a really good player IF we give him time. He reminds me a lot of Sam Moa, with the running style of Feka. When the new Gaffa gets here, gets him as fit as possible, I think he will be good for us as impact prop, much like Satae was for us. Maybe need to work on his defence as well, looks half hearted. But again, that looks like it's down to his fitness.
Okunbor has played wing/centre at Bradford, and by all accounts, looks more confident and happier etc still don't think he will be here next season
Moa was fit and could defend, from the off was a good player, Pele is so bad that he cant get in the worst Hull side in about 30 years. As bad a signing as Ockunbor, but because he made a good run against a championship team, people think he should stay.
If we keep him, it massively affects our recruitment on a centre
If we can't/don't pay Okunbor off for next season, I'd play him on the wing, Abduls biggest strength is his high bombs, could be effective kicking to Okunbors corner next season
He wont be here, we currently have 7 quota players, so one has to go to sign a hooker, he will be first out of the door, another one to underperform and get a nice little pay off (probably get a another club too), this is one thing we must avoid in the future, the amount of poor underperforming players that just get paid off, for some people there is no incentive to perform.
Pele is another one, came over unfit, gets sent off 40 minutes into his debut, misses 5 games, chance to get fit and repair the club, but doesn't.
Not sure we can afford to be taking a risk of either of these two players next season.
I'd by very surprised if Okunbor is still at the club come the end of the season as unfortunately he just hasn't shown anything of being up to the task at all and has just been another on the list of very poor signings.
Sao is another that potentially could be gone at the end of the season if he is indeed set to join the Fire Service.
As for Pele, I think there is a very destructive player in there but he obviously needs work on his fitness and desire and a strong Coach. I guess Cartwright will have back ground on him from before he came over and it'll be him that makes the call as to keep or release. For me Pele should be given an ultimatum that he has until the end of July to get himself in to shape to show he has the desire/drive to be a pro player and be at the club, if he fails to put the effort in to that then he should be another that goes.
So potentially it could be any one of them or all of them that leave.

You must be thinking of a different Moa, I remember seeing him come off the bench at bradford, he was seriously overweight, fat, not muscle, did 2 ten mins stints, could barely move and was older then Pele. It took Moa a full season and pre season to get into any kind of decent shape and fitness levels and that was with a tougher regime at the club.

The problem for Pele is his attitude in defence.
Watched them York highlights and yes he made a good run but there is a clip where the opposition play the ball and you see him in the defence line take a step forward and that is it. He had only just come on so it wasn’t down to fitness but attitude. Super League teams have soon picked up on this and therefore attack where he is stood. Unless he changes there then he won’t become a first team player at this level?

I do know his defence is poor, I just thought it may.be down to fitness. I'm really torn on Pele. As I think, under the right coach, he will be a big plus for us or someone else if he goes

I think it was Huddersfield away, we were in the Sky Blue and White hooped away shirt I think. He was a right fatty - anyone who remembers different is wrong. It took him a good year or 2 to get to a level of fitness needed. Same with Satae

It was Huddersfield away and remember him warming up in front of us and as you say he was massively overweight.

Believe me I would love him to be a success but I am sick of seeing lazy players in defence.
At this stage I can’t believe it’s fitness but more about attitude with him. Get that right and he could be devastating?
