The sad thing is, is that it is becoming more frequent especially with the younger generation. Regardless of who we are playing, the players on the pitch are making a living and to cheer someone with an injury is out of order. Yes we all cheer and applaud a big hit but if it becomes apparent the bloke hit is injured that applause will quickly abate as we wait to see if they get up again.
Not sure it is the younger generation tbh, it is a real eye opener at amateur level some of the parents are seriously bad, I have seen them abuse 12/13 yrs olds way beyond banter, in fact we once played a team in Hull (shall not mention who it was) and the lads were 15 yr, a brawl broke out and it was fiesty to say the least but as most know they usually die out fairly quickly, one of the parents (big bloke) went on the pitch and punched a player in the head!!!...madness!
I heard someone saying here we go again same old c-ap,were we going to finish this year 9th,10th,11th deary me i thought
Tbh ive said all along that game shouldnt of been played as friendly, majority of the fans werent even looking at performances etc they was just concerned about us beating rovers, such the rivalry,we should of played bulls before if the derby had to be played,it was all about making money in my eyes.
As for the game i thought rovers played very well and was upto speed as they had already played two games, totaly deserved the win,i wasnt to concerned about the result tbh, wade played well, sharp had a good game, seymour looks a very good signing too,i also thought it was hard to judge as they was to many substitutions,we will see a different game on sunday as they will be less players on show, also ill reserve judgement till we have played a few games.
The real action starts at home against warrington and i for one cant wait, come on you hulllllllll
I think one of the problems especailly with the younger groups, is that we had a couple of years of reaching finals etc and a few jumped on the band wagon and became so called supporters, since then we've had a massive downfall in regard to on the field performances due to poor managerial decisions ie player recruitment and tactics. Rather then disappearing back into the holes they came out of, they remain on the terraces. Slating the team and battering individual players confidence. A lot of the supporters haven't endured the really dire times, going to away games terrible weather conditions at poor grounds against poor teams and hoping you can snatch a victory.
Don't get me wrong i'm all for getting new faces on the terraces and improving attendances etc but, if all they going to do is slate the team i'd sooner them not be there.
As for the older generation well i think that's just the average good old english moaner, who no matter if we're winning everything or losing everything they'll still find something to have a good moan about.
Granted over the last couple of seasons there's been very little to be happy about, people should still try and get behind the team. The supporters used to lift the team now it like the supporters just wait for the team to try and lift them. There's a guy at work who i constantly have debates with about trying to be just a little optimistic and to try get behind the team no matter what, at times it's like i'm trying to convince a Rovers supporter.

Not unique to RL though. My son played soccer for a local club when he was much younger and some of the things the parents would say and/or do at matches was a real eye-opener to me at the time. And I'm no saint myself.

I think the meaning of the word 'supporters' is thrown around to easily these days.
On sunday, whilst sat in the East stand, there were a group of women sat behind me...not once did i hear them cheer on hull, ont once did they say 'well played hull' or a hull players name...all i heard was constant abuse towards the team and players.
"you're a fu(king disgrace Hull" when KR scored just after the break. even after the 2 quick tries to bring the scores to 20-18, still nothing.
Aparently, the players should be at their best by now, aparently because they've trained together for about 4 months, they should know each other, how they play and everything should have clicked by now. Aparently, training fitness and match fitness are the same thing.
When i pulled them up on all this, all i got was abuse, told me that "i've been going since long before you were born" (with some unsightly words in there aswell)...clearly they've learnt alot over the years.Andrew don't tell your aunt Sylvia that. plus she doesn't use bad language that includes a lot of the ladies that support Hull
This is not the first time ive had these sort of "debates" with other hull "supporters"...also have as 'friend' that texts sme all the time complaining about the things at hull and NEVER says anything good about the team...if/when hull do something good.
Being a FC supporter, for 16 years, i've never know hull "supporters" to be so fickle and against their own team.
So i was wondering why you think the population of these type of "supporters" is rising, and if you have any friends like this?

Good job I didn't show your post Offy (Andrew ) To your aunt Sylvia 1 she know the rules 2 she doesn't use bad language ..and that goes for most of our female supporters .Plus every body who pay to see the game has an opinion ..And she has supported Hull FC since 1960 ..She has earned the right to go to games and not stove over a cooker on a Sunday

Let’s be honest a hell of a lot of people that go to games don’t fully understand the game. It’s frustrating to listen to people in the east constantly moaning about players when they try something new as it’s always the ‘wrong option’. What do people want to see, us throw it around trying something new or 5 drives and a kick? Some people will moan however we play.
Also, I wish people would try and get behind the team like in the old days when we made a difference to the team’s performance and could lift them to another level, rather than moaning trying to get a penalty at every play the ball!!
I think people are getting annoyed was because all the paper talk, yet again the players are flying and all ready and up for it and then its against kr as well. I think if it was any other team we wouldnt have this negativity at all. But losing to Kr AGAIN and there players looking more up for it then most of our lot who where just going threw the motions can be annoying. At the end of the day all the lads got a run out and they will come on a hell of alot for that game and we got no injuries. Kr may have won the game but ended up losing there captain and Beaumont. Im sure our camp will be the happiest. And Sharp looked confident, Ocarrol was impressive and could be a great signing and Mckinnon and Seymour certainly look quality and this team will get better as we progress so we need to just stick in there and give them our support as im sure it helps.
