Re: End of Season Report : Sat Sep 14, 2019 4:10 pm
We've finished where I thought we would at the start of the season, the optimist in me wanted us to finish in the top 5 in preseason, but with key players another year older, the way we finished 2018 and not adding any major players I was expecting a mid-table finish just outside the play offs.

We've played some great rugby at times this year. Catalans away, Cas away, Leeds and Rovers at home. On the flip side of this we've thrown in too many stinkers to be taken seriously as GF challengers.

We seem so mentally weak; I don't know if getting the players to work with a psychologist would help but it’s got to be worth a shot. Wigan have used one in the past and they for me are the squad who can handle the pressure in crunch games most and big in deep for one another.

I'm glad the playing squad has had a shake up, and it sounds as though the coaching staff is having a reshuffle. We need some fresh ideas but not sure who the extra coach(es)/support staff would be? Naylor, Pryce or Cooke would be my guesses but that is only down to a Radford connection.

Overall it was a disappointing end to the season, but I’m already excited to see what we can do next year.

What we can say is that Radford was wrong in Extending the contracts of Mini,Paea,Manu and Washbrook.
Manu has been poor all season,Paea had a short run of decent games,Minichello finished giving his all but when he has played riddled with handling errors and Washbrook hardly played.
Had they been replaced last season with some quality it probably wouldnt have been another season to write off

Not sure why Shaul is coping so much flack - for me hes another victim of the poor attacking structures and coaching and not the cause

Yes of course, it must be Radford that tells him to stop when he gets the ball, run inside and then get tackled.

Disappointing season to end a disappointing decade on the league title front. It is now the longest period in our history since we were last crowned league champions(1983). Our successes have almost predominantly been in 30 year cycles- 1920's, 1950's and 1980's so this sequence is now broken.

We move on!

He's seen Sneyd do that so often he must think it's what pivots do.
