Firstly, thanks to Josh for his time at the club. He’ll forever be one of our Wembley winners and I wish him well for the future.
He’d certainly hit some great form this season, finally overcoming a terrible injury.
However, prior to that run of form there had been doubts about renewing his contract. His impact in the Second Row was potentially worth a one year extension given his age/salary.
However, regardless of how we all feel on how Kendall handled the incident, Griff’s mouth saw him land 1/4 season ban and potentially cost us £10,000’s in Cup revenue if we’d gone on to beat Saints. He was warned in the cup win at Cas and that reaction is no use to a Club.
I think this release decision helps set a standard that others are beginning to align to. We’ve all bemoaned the attitude of the players within the Club since McRae first highlighted the issue years ago. Tony appears to be improving all aspects of how we play and approach and it’s nice that Adam and the fans are prepared to back his decisions.
