Put yourselves in their position for a moment. They loved Scott Taylor and called for him to get a 5 year deal there. Just look at this:
viewtopic.php?f=59&t=522913

Then imagine that Hudgell tries to stall his arrival at Hull FC so he sends him to Wigan where he learns how to win trophies. Then he brings that knowledge to Hull and is a pivotal player in us ending the Wembley hoodoo and winning back to back Challenge Cups, whilst getting in the Dream Team and earning the international selection they said he would achieve with them. Then being vocal about his love for Hull FC. You can see why they'd be hoping he'll come a cropper. Savouring a rough tackle by Danny Tickle is fair enough in that context, meaningless in the bigger picture but a crumb of consolation in our relative achievements of the last few seasons.

Interesting for me to be reminded how nervous I was about ‘building for the future’ as early as March 2012. I’m not sure we got ‘admired’, but ‘patronised’ and ‘struggling’, tick and tick. Like a Hull KR Cassandra, me - it’s cack being right sometimes.

Given the nature of our sport, I think ‘sick’ is a helluva of a stretch. I’d put it beside that time Travis Burns picked up an opponent’s boot and wanged it down the other end of the pitch.

I watched Taylor make his debut as a 16 year old yes it would have been great to keep him because you knew he was going to be a great player but it wasn’t to be yeah I enjoyed the tackle and if it had been the other way round I’d have called it a cheap shot but that’s what fans do

Let them have the glory of a cheap shot.
At the end of the day, we’ve got Scott Taylor, they’ve got Danny Tickle.

Well, that all went as I expected. People really should give me more credit, right again. :D

I actually like our backs but we need a genuine partner for Taylor to replace Watts and a line-breaking back rower. Until then it l feels a bit Agar/mediocre - with Kelly and Connor we have 2 of the most talented players I've seen in black and white but no platform this year. How many games has Green played out of 25 this year? :?

Anyway, sounds like it was thoroughly deserved so hats off, 1 win in 8 is the stuff you must have been dreaming of this time yesterday. :)

You keep your sick fantasies to your self.

Your team is well coached. They went after Crooks and Hall who stood up well in defence. They then made it hell for Oakes in the second half courtesy of great kicking by Abdul.
He's built a very good team whilst developing good young players. Can he build another is the question.

Taylor was held, but not ‘HELD!’, so Tickle’s tackle was brutal but legal. It made me wince-smile, i’ll say that. There was nowt in the ‘crusher tackle’ on slapper Griffin, and i’ll be disgusted if that gets a charge... although not necessarily surprised.

Nothing personal, but the mental image of you with a monk-on, sat beneath the leaking roof made me snort-laugh, and turned an ordinary post into something of literary merit. :)

Tickle didnt do much wrong in the sense of the rules of the game. I'd expect it of a young kid wanting to make a name for himself rather then a 35 year old who's been round the block long enough to know whats right. The criminal thing about that incident was Hewer calling it a knock one when there is clearly a reef on the ball after Tickle made it a five man tackle.

Another inconsistency was Scrutton ont spending some time on the side lines after contact with the head. Faraimo saw red for a similar offence in good friday.

That said, it would have papered over cracks. The right team won on the night.

Personally, I have had enough of Rovers doing what others tell us is right - what’s best, and a bit of dark arts, makes a nice change. Like when Connor gets lauded for being a gobshite, by you some of you lot. :)

I don’t remember the Scruton contact with the head one but i’ll look out for it when I watch it back. Can you recall roughly when it was and who he hit?
