Well firstly the Bentley thing is a rumour from an unnamed source and secondly let's remember your reaction to the official announcement of the signing of Liam Sutcliffe last August.

All about attitude & culture for me.

We finally seem to have a real team ethos, any incomings got to enhance that not undermine it.

Cator an absolute trojan in defence, much under rated for mine.

Just can't see a Bentley/Connor type supporting progress.

Is Goudemamd any good, honestly can't say I've either really noticed him. What makes him such a god signing. Whilst Bentley has had his up and downs at Leeds, he shown at Saints to be an excellent player, maybe needs a change of clubs.

If Smith thinks he can get Bentely to buy into what the club are trying to do and get his playing consistently well, I'm all for it.

Smith seems to have a knack of improving players who want to improve.

Going off this sounds like the Bentley rumour is rubbish too.

Wigan boss Kris Radlinksi has denied that Powell's future lies away from the DW Stadium next season.

"We have not spoken to any Clubs. We are supporting Sam through his surgery and that is all we are focusing on.

Bentley is one of those players who has some exceptional strengths to his game but equal negatives. It’s all down to how smith sees he can develop him. I’d happily take him on talent we just need a good deal with performance based add ons.

His tackling efficiency is excellent
His line running is excellent
He’s aggressive

If we can get him to control his emotion, he’s an excellent signing

I'd disagree on this point. He's committed but he's been a bit all over the place defensively this season.

Don't know if it's because he's played on both edges or not had a consistent run.

I'd feel more confident in us signing Bentley with Smith incharge rather than Hodgson, as smith has shown this season, he's not afraid to drop players that show the wrong attitude / aren't playing well
