Agree with your points Ratu, he certainly had pace to go with his size, could break and tackle and be gone much like Briscoe in his pomp for us, he could certainly put a hit in too in defence but was also prone to more than a fair share of errors which tend to get over looked.
Re your point on Kelly, think I posted earlier in this thread that as good as Kelly was for us he was a maverick player and couldn't seem to play within a structure as more often than not the team didn't know what he was doing or going to do. Clifford is a totally different player in that he is team orientated and for me is better than Kelly individually and certainly as a team player. I'd also say that Trueman will likely prove to be better than Kelly, don't get me wrong Kelly was a great player and for us at the time but for me Clifford and Trueman are upgrades.
I think getting Truman was very smart business and while losing Clifford would hurt, he showed against Saints in the cup, that both himself, and the team, can play well if Clifford isn't on the pitch. Ideally , we'd love to keep both and the link with The Titans doesn't make a real lot of sense to me. They have AJ Brimson, who wants to play 6 and Toby Sexton at 7, with Jayden Campbell now in the frame for fullback. There are a few Roosters names being hawked about as leaving, Sam Walker among them; he is a very good halfback but lacks size, he'd go well in SL but you'd imagine he'll get NRL offers though, as last season he was being heralded as the brightest young half in their competition.
Whatever happens it will be a case of trusting a coach who has already proved his credentials to the fans, by transforming a relegation fancied squad into possible playoff contenders.
