Worryingly that's probably your best post this season.

Not for me, was a good player, but a bit like other Hull players people only see a flash of brilliance (Satae and Dywer are two recent examples). I'd prefer a Swift, Fonua (first spell) or Talanoa.

Think it's the same account that said we were signing Recce Lyne....

Different account, saw it last night, said marquee signing in Hull followed by red and white, which seems to say its Rovers. Probably more chance of signing for Rovers as they will pay marquee wage and have the Willie Peters link. Still be surprised though as could easily get an NRL gig and still under contract at the Knights I think. Would be 32 for the start of the so maybe the lure of a 3 or so year deal, might swing it for him.

I’m 100% with you here Dave. Rather was an athlete not a RL player. He could do freaky stuff and had wheels but he made far too many errors of which a lot were unforced such as playing the ball poorly.

He’s not got anything on our flying bin man or swift for that matter. Neither were as electric but better all round players.

And just for the talent boy, Clifford is better for us than Kelly. Kelly was an exceptional runner but his passing and kicking game was not quite as good as people make out. His body also wasn’t with it in the end. Clifford is more rounded, more robust and more effective and in a poorer side.

Interesting interview on Humberside with TS saying he has all the input on contract negotiations so any rumours about other messing up contract negotiations is false. Didn’t really commit about Clifford hopefully rumours are false. Dre hopefully get signed up too.

It will have been the same for years, fo people believe that for the last few years Clarke does all recruitment and retention without any input from the coaches, I'm sure he is involved, but the coaches will decide mainly who stays and goes. Some people have it in for Clarke, but atvthe end of the day it will be the coach who to sign or not.

Agree with your points Ratu, he certainly had pace to go with his size, could break and tackle and be gone much like Briscoe in his pomp for us, he could certainly put a hit in too in defence but was also prone to more than a fair share of errors which tend to get over looked.

Re your point on Kelly, think I posted earlier in this thread that as good as Kelly was for us he was a maverick player and couldn't seem to play within a structure as more often than not the team didn't know what he was doing or going to do. Clifford is a totally different player in that he is team orientated and for me is better than Kelly individually and certainly as a team player. I'd also say that Trueman will likely prove to be better than Kelly, don't get me wrong Kelly was a great player and for us at the time but for me Clifford and Trueman are upgrades.

I think getting Truman was very smart business and while losing Clifford would hurt, he showed against Saints in the cup, that both himself, and the team, can play well if Clifford isn't on the pitch. Ideally , we'd love to keep both and the link with The Titans doesn't make a real lot of sense to me. They have AJ Brimson, who wants to play 6 and Toby Sexton at 7, with Jayden Campbell now in the frame for fullback. There are a few Roosters names being hawked about as leaving, Sam Walker among them; he is a very good halfback but lacks size, he'd go well in SL but you'd imagine he'll get NRL offers though, as last season he was being heralded as the brightest young half in their competition.
Whatever happens it will be a case of trusting a coach who has already proved his credentials to the fans, by transforming a relegation fancied squad into possible playoff contenders.
