I think its clear for two reasons Gentle will not be with us next season. Performances have been too under par too often and secondly Pearson will know that unless there is a change then season ticket sales will be down.Having been a corporate guest at the Leeds v St's game on Friday, the difference is pace of the game and the basics being done correctly was immeasurable from what Hull have been serving up.
The speed the forwards ran the ball in to win the collision, the crispness of the passing. The willingness to try something different.
Why do those teams manage to do this yet we consistently cannot? Some of the Leeds player looked like they would have run at a brick wall for McDermott.
And herein lay the problem. Gentle will go and on balance probably rightly so, but the players have to be accountable for their attitude. I don't buy into players not playing for their coach. They are not professionals if thats the case. Lets face it there are a number of players who have been going through the motions more often than not.
I suppose the problem is, if they are contracted, getting rid of these players is not easy.
